Family Centers’ Parents as Teachers Program Earns Prestigious Blue Ribbon Designation
Stamford, Conn. (Oct. 21, 2024) – Family Centers’ Parents as Teachers (PAT) program has officially earned the Blue Ribbon Affiliate designation from the Parents as Teachers National Center. This recognition places Family Centers among the top-performing programs in early childhood education and family support, reflecting its adherence to the highest standards of service delivery.
The PAT program provides vital services to first- and second-time parents, helping them navigate the complexities of early childhood. Referrals are received through partnerships with Stamford and Greenwich hospitals and community providers, offering free services to families across Stamford, Greenwich, Darien, and New Canaan.
The Blue Ribbon designation was awarded after a comprehensive Quality Endorsement and Improvement Process, ensuring that affiliates meet or exceed essential requirements and demonstrate continuous improvements. Family Centers’ PAT program successfully completed this process, underscoring its commitment to delivering high-quality services that promote positive outcomes for children and families.
“This recognition reinforces the impact our program has on families and highlights the dedication of our team in supporting parents through their child’s early development,” said Leslie P. Sexer, Chief Program Officer of Family Centers. “We look forward to continuing to offer these essential services to our community.”
As a recognized Blue Ribbon Affiliate, Family Centers will continue to provide comprehensive support through home and telephone visits, parenting education, doula services and developmental screenings, helping children achieve school readiness and empowering parents with the tools they need for success.
