New Health Clinic Nears Opening
Family Centers Health Care (FCHC), a new Federally Qualified Health Clinic located at Wilbur Peck Court in Greenwich, is expected to open within the next few weeks. The clinic will offer residents of Greenwich Public Housing onsite access to quality healthcare services.
The clinic was built within formally vacant multi-purpose space at the public housing community. Construction is currently approaching a completion stage, and medical and professional staff has been hired. Geared to provide primary healthcare services to children and adults living in Greenwich Public Housing units, Section 8 housing and the surrounding neighborhoods, FCHC features three medical examination rooms and a full dental suite.
In addition to its medical, dental and support professionals, FCHC will also have an Access Service Worker on staff to help patients and their families enroll in public and private insurances, SNAP and other community resources.
An official opening date will be announced shortly.
In late 2015, Family Centers received a Federal “New Access Points” grant to cover the initial construction and operational funds needed to open the full-service primary health clinic. Additional funding was provided by the TurningPoint Foundation and the Mark Family Foundation.
