About Our Program

Family Centers' Early Care & Education (ECE) program provides full-day, year-round preschool and infant/toddler care services to families living and working in the greater Greenwich area. Our qualified team of professional early educators supports young children’s development of positive self-identity, instills a lifelong love of learning, and fosters a sincere appreciation of diversity.

All of our sites are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), which is widely considered the gold standard for quality in early education.

Our Sites

The Joan Melber Warburg Early Childhood Center is located at 22 Bridge Street in Greenwich and serves children ages 6 weeks to 2 years. The center’s seven classrooms are designed and outfitted to adapt to the changing stages of infant and toddlers’ physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.

The Grauer Preschool is located at 40 Arch Street in Greenwich and accepts children ages 2 years, 8 months through 5 years. The school features three classrooms, a large outward-bound themed playground and newly-renovated art and indoor play spaces.

The Gateway Preschool is located at 2 Chapel Street in Greenwich and serves children ages 2-5 years. Gateway has a two year old classroom and three pre-kindergarten classrooms. The preschool’s unique “open classroom” atmosphere and newly renovated soft surface, multi-age playground are some of the school’s most appealing aspects.

The Armstrong Court Preschool is located within the Armstrong Court housing community in Greenwich, and serves income-eligible children ages 2 years, 8 months through five. Objectives include preparing children to enter kindergarten and facilitating the transition process, family involvement, parental and vocational skill development, promoting family literacy and assuring access to community resources. The Armstrong Court Preschool is also home to our Greenwich Head Start and School Readiness programs.

Health & Safety

At Family Centers, the health of our children, their families and our teachers is a primary concern.  As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, our Early Care & Education team has implemented numerous protocols to ensure students enjoy a safe learning enviornment.

These protocols are strictly enforced, and comply with all federal, state and local guidance.  Additionally, Family Centers' safety protocols are regularly reviewed, and amended, as necessary.

Our Staff

We strive to hire and maintain highly qualified, committed, professional early educators. Our staff is exceptionally passionate about teaching young children.

All our lead teachers hold a minimum of an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education (or similar), and many are working towards Bachelors or Masters degrees in Education.
