Sept. 28, 2012 - GE Capital Real Estate Stages Fall Festival for Family Centers’ Preschoolers
On Thursday, Sept. 27, employees at GE Capital Real Estate held a Fall Festival for the 176 children enrolled in Family Centers’ Early Care and Education (ECE) and Head Start preschools.
The event took place on the playground area at Armstrong Court in Greenwich, and featured more than a dozen game stations, prizes, balloon animals, a pumpkin patch and face painting. As part of GE’s “BEE Healthy” Initiative, each student also received a healthy breakfast and lunch. Over 25 employees from local GE offices volunteered at the festival and assisted in running game stations, pumpkin decorating and distributing lunches.

Family Centers’ ECE programs offer National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accredited, curriculum- based preschool education and full or part-time care for young children. Services are offered in four locations in Greenwich.
Family Centers’ Head Start and School Readiness classes offer education programs for three, four and five-year-old children of families residing in Greenwich public and subsidized housing. The programs also emphasize parent involvement to encourage and support children’s educational and social development.
