Meet Our Executive Team
Robert M. Arnold, President and CEO
For over twenty-five years, Bob Arnold has been the President and CEO of Family Centers. Through a team of dedicated professionals, volunteers and a board of directors, Mr. Arnold works with numerous community groups, businesses, foundations and individuals whose philanthropic goals are met through the work of Family Centers.
Mr. Arnold is a past chairman of the Connecticut Council of Family Service Agencies, a past president of the Greenwich Kiwanis Club and has served on a variety of advisory boards and task forces. Additionally, he was instrumental in numerous successful mergers resulting in a broad-based organization that assists over 17,000 children and adults each year. Mr. Arnold holds a Masters degree from Columbia University and is a licensed social worker and marriage and family therapist.
Carole Elias, Executive Vice President
Carole Elias' career with Family Centers began in 1989 and she is currently the agency's Executive Vice President. Ms. Elias oversees Family Centers' clinical and outreach programs, self-sufficiency programs, as well as workplace services.
Ms. Elias holds a Masters of Social Work degree from Columbia University's School of Social Work, where she was an adjunct professor for over 10 years. Ms. Elias completed post-graduate training at the Ackerman Institute for Family Therapy in New York City and has been licensed for more than 20 years as a clinical social worker in both Connecticut and New York.
Bob Short, Vice President
Bob Short joined Family Centers in 1976 as a clinician based in the Stamford office. He worked in several outreach programs and provided general clinical services in these early years. He moved up the ranks to eventually becoming a Vice President in the organization. Bob oversees the Early Childhood Education and Head Start programs as well as the Housing Resource Program. In addition, he oversees licensing and accreditation and manages the upkeep of Family Centers’ six facilities.
Jim Vivier, Vice President
Jim Vivier has been a Vice President with Family Centers since 1999. Mr. Vivier oversees the agency's development and communications efforts and Friendly Connections - Family Centers' senior outreach program. Mr. Vivier previously worked at Abilis (formerly ARC, Inc), where he served several roles in residential services until he was promoted to Operations Director. Mr. Vivier received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Arizona State University.
