Below is a listing of the Center for HOPE's weekly support groups.
Programs are held at the Center for HOPE (590 Post Road in Darien) unless otherwise noted. A free initial intake appointment is required for most groups. For group more information or to register call Marisol Carde at 203-655-4693.
Monday
Parents Bereavement Group - Provides support to parents who are coping with the death of a child. Held weekly from 5:45 - 7 p.m.
Tuesday
Meditation - Learn how the ancient art of meditation can relieve some of the pain associated with a loved one's death, illness or stress. Held weekly from 5:45 - 7:15 p.m.
Caregivers Support Group - Helps those caring for a loved one with a serous illness cope with the stress of being a caregiver. Held weekly from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Younger Widows and Widowers Group - Helps people aged 30 to 60 cope with the loss of a spouse. Held weekly from 6:30 - 8 p.m.
General Bereavement Support Group - Open to anyone grieving the loss of a loved one. These groups are held on the first Tuesday of the month and are held in collaboration with Spear Miller Funeral Home. All groups are held at the 1st Congregational/United Church of Christ in Fairfield. Call 203-655-4693 for meeting schedule.
Thursday
Survivors of Suicide - Provides support and mutual understanding to family and other loved ones of someone who had died by suicide. Held weekly from 4:30 - 6 pm.
Bereavement Support Group - Open to an adult grieving the loss of a parent or sibling. Held weekly from 6 - 7:30 p.m.
General Bereavement Support Group - Open to anyone grieving the loss of a loved one. These groups are held on the fourth Thursday of the month and are held in collaboration with Hoyt Funeral Home. All groups are held at the New Canaan Public Library. Call 203-655-4693 for meeting schedule.
Senior Bereavement - Helps people over the age of 60 cope with the loss of a spouse, friend or relative. Held weekly from 2 - 3 p.m.
