Provide Some Cheer to Families in Need This Holiday Season
While the current economic climate may have forced us to scale back our holiday plans this year, many low-income families across lower Fairfield County will forgo the holidays in favor of meeting their basic living expenses. Please help Family Centers give these families the holiday season they deserve by donating a gift to our Holiday Wish List.
The items listed below will be given directly to clients enrolled in Family Centers' 30 human service and education programs. Your generosity will provide a local child, adult or family with some much-needed holiday cheer. All gifts are tax deductible. For more information, contact

Family Centers' 2011 Holiday Wish List
Several families are in need of air mattresses and bedding, as they work to start their lives over after living in homeless shelters
A family living on a fixed income are in need of winter gloves, hats, and jackets for the following sizes: Women's Size Small, Men's Size Medium and Boy's Size 2T. Their 20-month-old son would like age appropriate toys.
Warm blankets or snuggies are needed for 500 low-income seniors living in public housing complexes throughout Stamford and Greenwich
Two matching end tables, a TV stand, a homework desk and two twin sheet sets are needed for a single mother who is struggling to furnish her apartment
Developmental learning toys (such as alphabet, numbers, matching games, etc.) for toddlers in the Family Strengthening Program
A low-income family from Stamford would greatly benefit from a crib, a toddler bed for a little girl and a supply of diapers (all sizes) and wipes.
A teenage girl from a low-income family would like soft elastic-band pants (size M) in pink, a diary and art supplies.
A single mother would like to purchase her daughter some new clothes, but can't afford them. Three pair of girls' junior jeans (size 13-15), girls junior scoop neck tops, sweaters and cardigans (size large), bras (38D) and fun patterned socks would be appreciated.
Family of 4 living on a limited income would appreciate a small television set, an iPod Shuffle, clothes and pajamas for a four-month-old, a toddler bike, clothes for a 1-year-old girl
A low-income family needs warm clothes for the winter. Dad could use a new jacket (size XL).
A 3 year old boy needs winter boots size 9 and pants/jean size 3T or 4T
A 5 year old boy: needs winter boots size 13 and pants/jeans size 6T
A 15 year old boy needs sneakers size 12.5 adults and shirts size medium
A 23 year old female needs gift cards to Target and/or grocery store for household items and food for the kids
80 year old woman residing alone and bound to a wheelchair seeks a musical keyboard. With music as one of her only joys she desires the opportunity to play music to lift her spirits and keep her brain active.
Family with two children 14/mo and 17/mo needs clothes, shoes, baby shampoo, lotion and gift cards to apply towards diapers and wipes.
11 y/o girl would like latest Justin Bieber movie and an ipod shuffle.
15 y/o boy who suffers from depression wants to find a dance class,(he enjoys salsa and other such dances), but mom has no money to sign him up anywhere.
Several teens from low-income families would like iPod Shuffles
Several low-income families would like to enroll their children in the Boys and Girls Club, but cannot afford the membership fees.
A single, pregnant mother would like a basinet, co-sleeper, or crib. Diapers, wipes, bottles, diaper bag, burp clothes, bouncy seat for the baby and 3-6months clothes are also appreciated.
A low income family living in a public housing complex would appreciate a Men's XXL winter jacket, a Men's XL winter jacket, a women's medium winter jacket, bed Sheets-size Full (neutral colors preferred), and towels (Neutral colors preferred)
A single mother, whose daughter has been in and out of the hospital for major surgeries, needs a small dining table with chairs, purple shower curtains, grey or dark red living room curtains a dresser, toddler bed and blankets for a girl, pots and utensils.
A single father and his daughter have been diagnosed with a serious respiratory illness. They could use a DVD player , baby wipes, diapers size 4, boots size 4 or 5, pots and utensils, juice extractor, cooking steam machine, rice pot, soup bowls, plates and a full size mattress (Dora Ramos)
Newborn baby items for mom who is expecting in December: items needed include pajamas, onesies, appropriate winter clothing (sizes 0-3 months, 3-6 months)

An 11-year-old girl likes anything related to art and drawing (paper and crayola markers, colored pencils, etc).
A three-year-old girl likes dolls such as Barbie or any type of baby doll.
A four-month-old baby boy needs undershirts size 6 to 9 months, diapers, and formula.
