Family Centers Receives Grant from the Fund for Women and Girls Thanks to the generosity of the Fairfield County Community Foundation Fund for Women and Girls, teenage parents living in Stamford will continue to receive the care and support they need. At the Fund’s 8th Annual Grant Award Luncheon, Family Centers was awarded a $20,000 grant to benefit its Young Parents Program (YPP). The money will fund services designed to support pregnant teens and young mothers as they transition into their roles as parents. In addition to providing prenatal/parenting education and support, YPP clinicians help young parents further their educational and vocation goals. “We are extremely grateful to receive this grant,” said Carine Goor, YPP social worker. “Support from great organizations like the Fairfield County Community Foundation and the Fund for Women and Girls allows us to continue impacting the lives of young parents and their children.” This year’s Fund for Women and Girls grants provided more than $305,000 to 18 nonprofit organizations that serve women and girls living in Fairfield County.
