Family Centers Board Member and Employee NamedFamily Champions

Family Centers board member Seeley Hubbard and Clyde Evans, a case manager with Family Centers’ HOPE VI program, were recently honored by the Connecticut Council of Family Services Agencies (CCFSA) for their dedication to improving the lives of families.

Hubbard, of Rowayton, and Evans, of Bridgeport, were both presented the CCFSA’s Family Champions Award during a ceremony held at the Trumbull Marriott.  The honor recognizes human services professionals and volunteers whose work strengthens Connecticut’s families.Image

Since joining Family Centers’ Board of Directors 25 years ago, Hubbard has displayed a strong history of client advocacy.  He has served on and chaired the agency’s Advocacy Committee, and represented Family Centers on the Community Housing Coalition and the Coalition for Basic Human Rights.  Hubbard’s expertise and vast understanding of the law has been invaluable on employment, client privilege, zoning and contractual issues.

Evans joined Family Centers in 2001 and has helped improve the lives of hundreds of families living in Stamford Public Housing.  As a HOPE VI case manager, the counseling, vocational training and case management services he provides allows residents to strive toward a higher level of self-sufficiency.  During his tenure, Evans has also worked with Family Centers’ Young Fathers Program, Empowering People for Success and Reaching Independence Through Employment (RITE).
