Castaway: Shipwrecked in Belle Haven Benefit Set for June 1 Throw your fate to the wind and join Family Centers as a “Castaway” for one spectacular night. Enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of the tropics when you come aground on the evening of Friday, June 1st for Family Centers’ 2007 benefit, Castaway: Shipwrecked in Belle Haven. The event begins at 6:30 p.m., and will be held at the home of Arlene and Reuben Mark. With excitement around every palm tree, event co-chairs Arlene Mark, Leigh Carpenter and Mimi Tabah have ensured this will be a shipwrecked experience you won’t soon forget. Castaways will be welcomed ashore to the sounds of the Blue Flames Steel Band while sipping “Deserted Island Punch” from coconut shell cups. Before sitting down to an island feast prepared by Watson’s Catering, guests can test their luck in the NAME Casino. And with the tropical moon hanging high overhead, ETA Music will heat up the night with a mix of the best party tunes. Keeping with the theme, the event’s sponsorship levels are named for some of the most famous castaways of all time – including Lovie and Thurston Howell III, Robinson Carusoe and Wilson “The Volleyball”.
