January 30, 2007 "Giving Fund Brightens Holidays for Family Centers Clients"

 By participating in The Advocate and Greenwich Time’s Giving Fund, Family Centers was able to bring some holiday cheer to several of its clients. Held from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Eve, the Giving Fund was a community-wide campaign that allowed residents of lower Fairfield County to help local needy families and individuals in need. As a partner agency, Family Centers provided the newspapers with cases, which were printed weekly over the course of the campaign. These cases are the stories of actual Family Centers clients. The community response was overwhelming, as more than $70,000 was raised. For many clients, the money was used for necessary expenses including rent, utility bills, medication expenses and overdue automobile repairs. Thanks to all who participated in this year’s Giving Fund for making a difference in our clients’ lives.
