Now in its second year, The Den mentors act as role models and provide guidance and support to a group of high risk children. Each week at the Stamford Boys and Girls Club, the teens plan outings, offer homework help, play games and otherwise lend a listening ear and a positive outlook for children who have experienced the death of a parent or another person close to them. The Den mentoring program is supervised jointly by Karyn Vivier of The Den For Grieving Kids of Family Centers in Greenwich and Bob Kocienda of The Center for Youth Leadership, located at Brien McMahon High School.
