A Message from CEO Bob Arnold
As a trusted provider of health, early education and human service programs, Family Centers is closely monitoring the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation affecting communities across the country. We understand the increased level of public concern caused by the rising number of confirmed cases nationwide and the uncertain nature of the virus.
The safety of our staff, as well as every child, family and individual we serve, is always a top priority. As such, Family Centers is working in partnership with state and local authorities to develop a proactive plan as circumstances surrounding COVID-19 continue to unfold. We are in regular contact with the Stamford, Greenwich and Darien Health Departments, and are committed to following their guidance and recommendations. Our Leadership Council has begun implementing the organization’s emergency preparedness procedures, and will activate a COVID-19 response plan as necessary.
Since there is no vaccine for COVID-19, it’s critical for all Family Centers staff and their clients to adhere to the guidelines developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for preventing the transmission of respiratory diseases. These include:
- Stay home when sick. Do not return until you are fever and symptom-free for at least 24 hours.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
The situation relating to COVID-19 continues to evolve, and we will continue to provide updates as they become available. For more information on COVID-19 and ways to protect yourself and your family, please visit the links below.
